A few countries from Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam are eyeing economy recovery by lifting lockdown measures that have been in place for months. This includes reopening borders and public spaces in hopes of starting to revive the tourism industry. However, experts explain their concerns on how this would affect the number of future cases given their low vaccination rates, which mostly consists of China’s Sinovac, a vaccine that has been reported to have low efficacy rates against the Delta variant.
