The Indonesian government expects the pandemic to shift to an endemic in 2022 where the COVID-19 virus will be less of a threat to the country. This implies that they do not expect COVID-19 to be entirely gone in Indonesia, but they do hope that current measures being implemented such as improving health infrastructures, controlling the population’s behavior with health protocols, and establishing a long-term public health resilience plan would aid in the journey to that goal. With this, the COVID-19 fight remains to be one that the whole government, together with all sectors and stakeholders, should continue to work on.
