The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Philippines said that while the pandemic resulted in unemployment, it has also brought attention to several “resilient” jobs in the National Capital Region.

They are referred to as “resilient” jobs because they endured the impacts of the coronavirus outbreak. The jobs identified are in the sectors of health care, logistics, information technology, business process management, education, and construction.

In the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry for instance, there are said to be 10,000 job opportunities from customer service representatives, technical support staff, to trainers, managers, to information technology and marketing positions.

These resilient jobs were identified through a recent environment scanning research on the situation and labor market landscape of the region.
