Indian big IT company Tech Mahindra implements automation in its BPO unit, and will lay off up to 5,000 employees come April 2021. The IT service provider already laid off 2,500 employees by the end of last year. While automation leads to a significant decrease in employment, the company recognizes that embracing new technologies like analytics and artificial intelligence is crucial to deliver the expectations of its clients.
