The Chinese government is taking necessary steps to suppress unhealthy online content through its Cyberspace Administration. These include “vulgar and violent content, internet algorithms abuse, online fraud, cyber violence, malignant cyber business operations and news distortion.” Meanwhile, Facebook has been monitoring an increase in organizations offering disinformation-as-a-service. Among these are services appear to align with states, while others seem to be just “hired guns”.
